Have Pity
Please have pity on my sword; if you don't stop shouting you'll frighten it out of its scabbard -Edmond Rostland, Cyrano de Bergerac

Apples
"Some things you have to do every day. Eating seven apples on Saturday night instead of one a day just isn't going to get the job done." -- Jim Rohn

You're Here! Congratulations!
"Statistically, the probability of any one of us being here is so small that the mere fact of our existence should keep us all in a state of contented dazzlement."

Well, I was looking at my last few posts...
... and I realized I could sound rather depressed. Which, in fact, I am not. Merely very thoughtful. Hence, I thought I would post some funny quotes to cheer things up a bit. :D
Any girl can be glamorous. All you have to do is stand still and look stupid.
--Hedy Lamarr
(okay, so this one's sort of an inside joke with myself and a few other people.)
How many people here have telekenetic powers? Raise my hand.
--Emo Philips
I don't think anyone should write their autobiography until after they're dead.
--Samuel Goldwyn
I have six locks on my door all in a row. When I go out, I lock every other one. I figure no matter how long somebody stands there picking the locks, they are always locking three.
--Elayne Boosler
I washed a sock. Then I put it in the dryer. When I took it out, it was gone.
--Rod Schmidt
My fake plants died because I did not pretend to water them.
--Mitch Hedberg
"For a moment, nothing happened. Then, after a second or so, nothing continued to happen."
-— Douglas Adams
Hmm... *tilts head to one side* Those are funny, but I still like the "somber" quotes better. Oh well. There you go. :D

Be Still My Soul
1. Be still, my soul; the Lord is on thy side;
Bear patiently the cross of grief or pain;
Leave to thy God to order and provide;
In every change He faithful will remain.
Be still, my soul; thy best, thy heavenly, Friend
Through thorny ways leads to a joyful end.
2. Be still, my soul; thy God doth undertake
To guide the future as He has the past.
Thy hope, thy confidence, let nothing shake;
All now mysterious shall be bright at last.
Be still, my soul; the waves and winds still know
His voice who ruled them while He dwelt below.
3. Be still, my soul, though dearest friends depart
And all is darkened in the vale of tears;
Then shalt thou better know His love, His heart,
Who comes to soothe thy sorrows and thy fears.
Be still, my soul; thy Jesus can repay
From His own fulness all He takes away.
4. Be still, my soul; the hour is hastening on
When we shall be forever with the Lord,
When disappointment, grief, and fear are gone,
Sorrow forgot, love's purest joys restored.
Be still, my soul; when change and tears are past,
All safe and blessed we shall meet at last.
